DATA Processing
1 – MTmerge
Project Description
MTMerge is a utility program for merging individual channel magnetotelluric time-series data acquired by Zonge ZEN receivers into a multichannel file with the GDP-3224 format. MTMerge reads survey configuration, calibrate and time-series data from Zonge MT *.z3d time-series files and writes the merged data to a single *.cac file. If MTMerge finds a xamtant.cal or amtant.cal antenna calibrate file with the needed antenna calibrates, it includes those antenna calibrates in the output *.cac file. Processing parameter preferences are input from MTMerge.cfg. Once the time series have been merged, programs MTFT24 and MTEdit can be used to Fourier transform the data and estimate robust impedance and apparent resistivity averages.
2 – MTFT24
Project Description
MTFT24 is a utility program for processing and reviewing magnetotelluric time-series data acquired by Zonge GDP-3224 receivers. MTFT24 reads survey configuration, calibrate and time-series data from Zonge MT *.cac time-series files. Optional antenna calibrate amtant.cal and system calibrate amtbrd.cal files may be used to get updated calibrate values. Processing parameter preferences are input from mtft24.cfg. MTFT24 uses cascade decimation to Fourier transform the time-series, and it writes the resulting spectral coefficients to *.fft files. Once the spectral data have been calculated, program MTEdit can be used to make robust impedance and apparent resistivity averages.
3 – MTedit
Project Description
LICENSE REQUIRED
MTEdit is a utility program for processing and reviewing magnetotelluric data collected by Zonge receivers. It calculates averaged impedance and apparent resistivity values from unaveraged spectral data. MTEdit includes options for both automated processing and interactive quality control editing.
